For my choses painting I decides to draw a landscape of a pond and trees in the background. I used color pencil instead of watercolors, and to make the drawing stand out more I blended colors together. For example for the grass in front of the pound I blended black, dark green and blue together. To make the drawing look more professional and realistic I then added white as my blending tool. The elements I used were color, contrast, lines, and blending to create a happy mood. For my Disney Painting the elements I used were contrast, color, shapes and layers. I began the painting by starting with the background, the sky and then the light blue. After that I layered the blue on it then came the darker blue layer. The last layer was the tree. After I painted all the layers I then added in all the lines and circles to create a texture that make the painting come to life. The mood I was trying to portray was spooky and yet a little happy and peaceful.
For the two landscapes one I painted the shades with the dark brown and black to create the shadows. As for the other painting I used blues and reds to create the shadows. On the second painting I also added more paint to make the watercolors look real. For both of the paintings, in the water I added white paint to make the water look like it is flowing, also mixing light and dark blues to also give it the illusion of movement. The elements I used were contrast, color and shading to create a both dark in the first painting and peaceful mood for the second painting. The skills I learned working on this painting were how to make the blue and red appear as shades and how to mix colors together.
My image includes the portrait of an up close image with a contrast of colors completing the piece. Using watercolors to paint my up close picture of the flower. I blended the pink and whites together to create to make the flower look more real. For the background I wanted to make the mood calm and have the flower popping out. The elements I used were color, contrast, blending and lines to make the flower seem real.
The image is a self-portrait, that is proportional and shaded in a areas where the light hits the face such as under the eyes giving the nose a three dimensional form.
